The Ekiti State Head of Service Mrs ‘Peju Babafemi has lauded the synergy between the state government and workers as she said that the current administration has milked the best of the civil service and private sectors for good governance and social justice within the State.
Speaking at the Ekiti Parapò Pavillion venue of the May Day celebration, Mrs Babafemi expressed satisfaction at the understanding and cordial relationship that the Fayemi led administration had built with the leadership of the organized labour and workers across all sectors.
Speaking on the theme, Labour, Politics,and Quest for good governance and Development in Nigeria, the state first female Head of Service said that workers are critical stakeholders towards ensuring stability and smooth runnings of government activities.
According to her ” Ekiti state government has been drawing support and insights from the input of labour leaders, which engendered the implementation of the Governance Agenda. Labour and all practitioners in public administration must join minds and hands in ensuring social justice and good governance in our nation.
It is important for us to commend the present Government of Dr Kayode Fayemi, despite the global economic downturn ocassioned by the Covid19 pandemic in since 2020, he paid due attention to workers’ welfare, career, and capacity development. We have a Governor that is leading with heart and prioritizes the payment of salaries and pensions“
Mrs Babafemi who thanked the the leadership of the civil service across Departments and agencies for their commitment emphasized that all workers from the lowest to the highest cadre are important and valued by the state government and their welfares shall always be prioritized.
