There are two sides to every coin, the conscious and the unconscious acts could form good or bad attitude for the younger ones whose mind are moulded by their immediate and remote environment.
To discern the good or bad of parenting is not hard, It is conspicuously obvious in the mental, physical, psychological, cultural, social, Moral judgements of a child.
Parenting is judged by the limits of Freedom and access to liberty set by the parents, the confine within which a child behaviours is regulated and regimented. Infact, children are the image of their parents and that is why People ask ” Whose child?” inorder to ascertain and place the right judgement of opinions.
Contemporarily, most parents do not care about the implications of their lifestyles: actions and inactions. Parenting has been understood from the point of provision of food, needed material, luxuries, holiday merriment, absolute freedom for children to go by whatever appeals to them.

Well! I am not saying that children should be denied, parenting is about roles not even the bonds, affection, or the relationship but the total impact of parents at choosing a path for their wards.
Parenting is about addressing the Family’s unique Passions, values and belief system guiding or barricading the prosperity of the lineage. It most time requires a conscious effort.
Today, there is much groaning about the upturn of values in the moral, political, religious, academic, social, and other sectors of the public sphere. In Nigeria, People berate the rate of killings for money ritual, kidnapping for economic gains, armed robbery, secret cult activities perpetrated by children of young and tender ages. Most older people express shock and worry as well as blame the trend on the 21st Century Children.

They say the children of Nowadays are crook. Sometimes even a mother would laugh at her crawling child who is dangerously going to the gas cooker and say” Awon omo aye ode Oni Yi Sha” meaning that all these children of Nowadays.
Well, I express doubt that as it was in the beginning, is no longer what it is and things may go worst if cautions are thrown into the winds. Parents of Nowadays have failed the children of Nowadays.
People blame parents for not spending much time with their children and leaving them and their mind grooming: genuine affection, emotions and bond at the mercy of gadgets, toys, TV, films, Facebook and other social media.
For me all these might have their negative effects but I say that quality moments with children will do much good at taking the advanced embedded in technology. Parents can not spend whole days with wards all in the name of parenting, such to me is even bad parenting.
Nowadays parents will even report their child to his or her friend who perhaps is even the negative force driving the child away from white. There is so much influences that children of Nowadays are having upon themselves. They have formed a clique and took it upon themselves to train one another since their parents have abandoned their responsibility.

Parenting is not limited to home and within a family. Seriously the older generatiins have failed us. Why do you blame us? Most of us are children from broken homes, products of imbalanced marriage where a parent divorced to remarry. Why do you blame us that we engage in prostitution, sleeping in Hotels and drinking tender age when all our streets are full of hotels, Should we allow your business to fold up even as a revenge for not building and equipping the few available public schools?
Why should we not engage in drug abuse when tertiary institutions are as silent as mortuary because of strikes? Don’t you know are frustrating and irritating your generations are? Why should our generation not Kidnap you and engage in armed robbery even after you rob us off our happiness? Do you think our generation is happy with you?
21st century is about technological advancement and not about the celebration of moral decadence. Fine! Civilization may alter some of our values, but not the total erosions of virtues. We met you here and we socialized.
We inherited and learn the get rich quickly syndrome from your selfishness and greediness. You have resulted to pauperizing everyone and making your capital gains. All these we see to draw our own template that you now complain because you feel endangered.
Teach a child the way he should grow and when he grows, he will not depart from it. We need not waste time trying to blame the nowadays parenting. The needful is to alert enlightened the mentee that their mentors failed and the need to restructure away from the actions and the inactions of our parents which contribute to perpetual unhappiness in our world.
People of My generation, it is true that the age of our parents have failed us, let us identify this problem and be determined not to fail ourselves. Babini, koto ka tunra enibi. It is important that we guide against failing our own children lest they stone us to avenge blaming our parents for failing our generation.
