The Chairman of Ifedara Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Lawrence Ogunsanya, has extended his heartfelt Easter greetings to the residents of the council and the entire Ekiti State, describing the season as one that symbolizes love, sacrifice, and renewed hope.
In his Easter message made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti, the council boss urged citizens to reflect on the message of Easter, which emphasizes compassion, unity, and peaceful coexistence, noting that true community progress can only be achieved when residents live harmoniously and show care for one another, especially the vulnerable.
Ogunsanya called on residents to deliberately embrace the values of love and tolerance, irrespective of religious, ethnic, or political differences. According to him, the spirit of the season should guide people towards fostering mutual understanding and support across all divides with emphasis that Easter is not just a time of celebration but also a moral reminder to rekindle the virtues that strengthen societal bonds and inspire collective development.
On security, the Chairman commended residents and local security outfits for their continued vigilance and efforts in maintaining peace across the LCDA, urging community members not to relent, encouraging them to remain watchful and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
He reiterated the council’s commitment to working closely with security agencies and traditional institutions to strengthen community policing and protect lives and property.
Ogunsanya expressed his support for the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, describing him as a leader who has consistently demonstrated a commitment to grassroots development and inclusive governance. He applauded the governor’s people-centred policies and assured that Ifedara LCDA would continue to align with and support the administration’s vision for a better Ekiti State.
The Chairman reassured the people that his administration would not relent in empowering residents and improving their welfare. He announced that a new round of empowerment programmes would soon be launched across the council area, with a focus on empowering youths, women, artisans, and small-scale entrepreneurs to boost local productivity and self-reliance.
Ogunsanya revealed that the forthcoming empowerment packages would include vocational tools, startup grants, farm inputs, and capacity-building workshops, all designed to tackle poverty and support economic resilience at the grassroots. He stressed that the council was committed to lifting people out of hardship and creating opportunities for wealth creation within the LCDA.
He urged eligible residents to make the most of the empowerment opportunities once rolled out, advising them to put the support to productive use. The Chairman also highlighted that beyond empowerment, the council would continue investing in vital sectors such as infrastructure, education, health, and youth development to foster long-term growth and prosperity.
