Easter: Fatunla Urges Ekiti Residents to Embrace Love, Service, Rallies Support for Oyebanji’s Agenda

The Special Assistant to the Governor of Ekiti State on Service Delivery, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), Toba Fatunla has congratulated Christians in Ikole-Ekiti and across the state on the celebration of Easter, calling for renewed commitment to love, unity, peace, and collective responsibility.

In a goodwill message made available to newsmen on Sunday, Fatunla described the Easter season as a time for sober reflection, healing, and recommitment to values that promote communal progress. He said the resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolizes hope and a new beginning, which should inspire citizens to rise above personal and political differences in pursuit of the greater good.

The governor’s aide stressed that Easter is not only a celebration of faith but also a moral call to embody virtues such as sacrifice, selflessness, and compassion in everyday life, noting that just as Christ offered himself for the redemption of mankind, citizens must be willing to make sacrifices to advance the cause of peace and development in their communities.

Fatunla used the occasion to commend the people of Ikole and the entire Ekiti State for their unwavering support for the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, describing their commitment as pivotal to the successful implementation of people-oriented policies and reforms. He said the administration has remained focused on delivering results in line with its development blueprint.

He lauded Governor Oyebanji’s leadership for entrenching inclusive governance, promoting infrastructural development, and strengthening institutions through transparent and accountable public service. According to him, the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, under the governor’s directive, continues to drive key reforms aimed at improving efficiency across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

Fatunla reiterated the administration’s resolve to empower citizens through various grassroots programmes, noting that several empowerment initiatives targeted at women, youth, and vulnerable groups were currently underway. He added that new interventions would soon be unveiled to further support small businesses and stimulate economic growth at the local level.

While assuring residents of Ikole Ekiti of more impactful programmes, he urged them to take full advantage of skill acquisition trainings, digital empowerment schemes, and entrepreneurship support services made available by the state government. He stated that building a self-reliant and productive society remains a top priority of the Oyebanji administration.

On the issue of security, Fatunla called for vigilance and collective action to safeguard lives and property across the state. He urged citizens to remain law-abiding, report suspicious activities, and collaborate with security agencies and traditional institutions to sustain the current atmosphere of peace and stability.

He commended the efforts of local leaders, religious bodies, and community-based organisations in promoting unity and social harmony, urging them to continue to support the state government’s initiatives. He said their role in preaching peace and moral discipline cannot be overstated.
