The Ekiti State Government has reminded citizens of the state of the commencement of the 91 Regular Recruits Intake of the Nigerian Army for tradesmen and non tradesmen and women, calling on qualified indigenes to take advantage of the opportunity before the application window closes on May 17, 2026.
In a public service announcement issued by the Cabinet and Special Services Department in the Office of the Governor, the government said the recruitment exercise, which is free and conducted online, opened on March 30, 2026, and requires interested candidates to complete their registration through the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal.
The statement, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Oyeyemi Kayode Ojo, explained that the exercise is open to Nigerian citizens by birth who possess a valid National Identity Number slip, stressing that applicants must meet clearly defined age and eligibility criteria.
According to the guidelines, candidates applying as non tradesmen and women must be between 18 and 22 years, while those applying as tradesmen and women must not be older than 26 years as at June 30, 2026, reflecting the Army’s effort to recruit able and trainable young Nigerians.
It further noted that applicants are required to present valid birth certificates issued by the National Population Commission, a government hospital, or a local government authority, or provide an age declaration, alongside a certificate of state of origin.
On educational qualifications, the government stated that candidates must have at least four credit passes in not more than two sittings in examinations such as WASSCE, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, with English Language listed as a compulsory subject.
Beyond academic requirements, the announcement emphasised that all applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, adding that male candidates must not be less than 1.68 metres in height, while female candidates must meet a minimum height of 1.65 metres.
For those applying under the trades category, the government clarified that possession of a relevant trade certificate, including Test or City and Guild qualifications, is mandatory, as this category targets individuals with specific vocational skills.
The statement also advised non indigenes residing in Ekiti State to return to their respective states to participate in the recruitment process, in line with established procedures guiding the nationwide exercise.
It added that successful candidates after the online screening phase would be invited for physical screening at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion between June 9 and June 23, 2026, while further enquiries can be directed to the Cabinet and Special Services Department at the Governor’s Office in Ado Ekiti or through the provided telephone contacts.
