The Chairman, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Mr. Bayo Omojola, has lauded the insights gained during the three-day retreat organized by the Ekiti state government for the newly sworn in Council Chairmen, held at the Abiodun Adetiloye Hall, Trade Fair Complex, Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti, stating that the acquired knowledge will not be squandered.
Among the diverse array of stakeholders present at the retreat, Mr Omojola affirmed that the program has honed his vision and mission for Ikole Local Government Area (LGA), aligning them seamlessly with the overarching agenda of the Ekiti State Government.
The retreat, which convened Local Government Chairmen, Secretaries, LCDA Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Secretaries, LG Inspectors, Heads of LG Administration, and other relevant stakeholders, was spearheaded by the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs in Ekiti State, Chief Folorunso Olabode, focusing on aligning State and Local Government plans to achieve enhanced coordination, aiming for a harmonized approach to governance as well as increased efficiency in public service.
Omojola assured the local populace of tangible results, promising value for money and effective service delivery as the bedrock of good governance in the council.
Mr. Bayo Omojola in a statement, expressed confidence in the newfound knowledge and strategies acquired during the retreat, emphasizing their application to bring about positive change in the fortunes of Ikole LG. He pledged that his administration would prioritize the unique and peculiar needs and aspirations of each community within the local government.
Commending the Ekiti State government, under the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Omojola highlighted the significance of such retreats in curbing financial mismanagement, preventing abandoned projects, and minimizing wasted efforts at the grassroots level. He acknowledged the government’s proactive initiatives, foreseeing a reduction in instances of misappropriation of funds at local government level.
