Ekiti Youth Ministry Mourns Rising Star, Agbaje Oluwadamilola Fatima

The Ministry of Youth Development in Ekiti State has been thrown into deep mourning following the tragic demise of a promising young leader, Agbaje Oluwadamilola Fatima, whose sudden death has left a painful void in the state’s youth community.

In a tribute signed by the Hon. Commissioner for Youth Development in the state, Adesola Gold Adedayo, Fatima was described as a shining star whose intellect, advocacy, and leadership had inspired many. Her death, he said, came at a time when she was poised to make groundbreaking contributions to the legal and development sectors.

Damilola, who recently completed her studies at the Nigerian Law School, was on the cusp of being called to the Bar after graduating with First Class Honours in Law from Elizade University. Her academic feat stood as a testament to her brilliance and unwavering dedication to excellence.

Beyond academics, Fatima was a leading voice in youth development in Ekiti. She served as Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State Youth Parliament and played an instrumental role as Chairman of the Drafting Committee that reviewed the Ekiti Youth Policy document. Her contributions, the Ministry said, would continue to influence policy directions for years to come.

She also flew Ekiti’s flag at the national level, having emerged as a distinguished Fellow of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI), where she continued to champion the interests of young Nigerians. Describing her as “a true Omoluabi,” the Commissioner highlighted her deep commitment to justice, equity, and youth empowerment.

“Damilola was not just a bright prospect; she was an embodiment of vision, purpose and resilience,” Adedayo stated, adding that her legacy would live on as a source of motivation for Ekiti youths and aspiring leaders across the country.

The Ministry extended its condolences to her family, friends, colleagues in the Youth Parliament, and all who were touched by her remarkable life. “May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” the tribute concluded.
