Beyond Headlines: Ekiti HOS Olomojobi Leads Accounting Officers on Sites-seeing on Ekiti Transformative Journey

The Ekiti State’s Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Folakemi Olomojobi, has commended Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration for its remarkable strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture, following a comprehensive inspection of ongoing and completed projects across the state.

The tour, which brought together top accounting officers from various ministries, departments, and agencies, provided an on-the-spot assessment of projects executed under the governor’s six-point development agenda. It offered what Dr. Olomojobi described as “a practical demonstration of good governance and accountability in action.”

At each stop, the Head of Service and her team witnessed visible evidence of transformation that has redefined Ekiti’s development landscape. The visit to Corpus Christi College, Ilawe-Ekiti, revealed a newly renovated 12-block classroom complex, a modern school hall, and an ultra-modern ICT centre fully equipped for digital learning. Dr. Olomojobi described the facility as a testament to the administration’s resolve to integrate technology into education and equip young minds for future opportunities.

The delegation also visited the transformed Ilawe General Hospital, which had evolved from a dilapidated structure into a modern healthcare centre. The facility now boasts improved wards, functional equipment, and conducive service areas for patients and medical staff. Dr. Olomojobi noted that the project symbolizes the government’s commitment to providing quality and accessible healthcare for all Ekiti citizens, especially at the grassroots level.

At Ikere-Ekiti, the inspection team toured the YSJ Youth Back to Agriculture project, where young farmers are being empowered through modern farming practices on a sprawling 409-hectare farmland. The Head of Service applauded the initiative, describing it as a sustainable model for youth engagement, food production, and economic diversification in the state.

The inspection also covered major infrastructural projects that have improved connectivity and boosted local commerce. Among the roads visited were the 21.65 km Ilawe–Ikere road, 19.2 km Ikere–Igbara-Odo road, 12.4 km Igbara-Odo–Ikogosi road, 13.27 km Itaure–Okemesi road, and the 18.85 km Ifaki–Iworoko federal road. Each route, according to the team, reflects the government’s focus on improving transportation networks to enhance mobility and economic integration.

A key highlight of the tour was the ongoing 68 km Ado-Ekiti Ring Road, where the first 17.85 km phase has been completed by Craneburg EKSG Motorway Plc. The road, which links directly to the Ekiti Agro-Cargo International Airport, was lauded by Dr. Olomojobi as a visionary project that would open the state to greater economic opportunities and investment inflows.

The delegation also inspected the airport facilities, including the 3.2 km asphalt runway and an advanced control tower. The Head of Service described the project as a game-changer for Ekiti’s economic positioning, connecting the state to regional and global markets.

Similarly, the newly constructed Ado-Ekiti Bypass, designed to ease traffic congestion and enhance trade mobility, drew commendation from the visiting officials. Dr. Olomojobi noted that such infrastructural initiatives underline Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to building a prosperous and functional state.

In her remarks, Dr. Olomojobi charged all accounting officers to sustain the high standards set by the administration through transparency, dedication, and proactive service delivery. She emphasized the importance of continuous communication of government programmes and achievements to the public to strengthen citizens’ confidence in governance.

The Head of Service described the tour as both enlightening and inspiring, adding that it revealed the depth of work being done by the Oyebanji administration beyond the surface of public perception. According to her, “these projects speak for themselves—they reflect planning, discipline, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for the people of Ekiti State.”

As the inspection concluded, the accounting officers expressed satisfaction with the level of execution and the strategic alignment of the projects with the government’s six-point agenda. They pledged continued commitment to ensuring effective monitoring and delivery of government policies and programmes.
