An All Progressives Congress House of Representatives aspirant for Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1, Prince Idowu Iranlade Popoola, on Monday reaffirmed his commitment to the re election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, declaring that he had commenced aggressive grassroots mobilisation across Ido Osi, Moba and Ilejemeje local government areas to deliver massive votes for the party.
Iranlade, who spoke with journalists at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado Ekiti during the flag off of the governor’s campaign, said he had already set in motion a coordinated structure aimed at achieving no fewer than half a million votes for the governor in the forthcoming election scheduled for June 20.
The APC aspirant, who mobilised hundreds of supporters to the event, said the early arrival and massive turnout of party faithful and stakeholders at the venue were clear indications of the widespread acceptance of the Oyebanji administration across the state.
He noted that the crowd, which began gathering as early as 7am ahead of the 2pm programme, reflected a cross section of Ekiti society, including teachers, health workers, youths, transport unions, persons with disabilities, and beneficiaries of various government programmes.
According to him, the presence of youths empowered through initiatives such as the YSJ Bring Back the Youth into Agriculture scheme further demonstrated the direct impact of the administration’s policies on the people, adding that such beneficiaries had become critical drivers of mobilisation at the grassroots.
Iranlade also pointed to the orderly conduct of the event, with security personnel, health workers, and volunteer groups effectively managing the large crowd, as evidence of the administration’s capacity for organisation and inclusive governance.
He stressed that his mobilisation drive was anchored on engaging critical stakeholders and community based groups across the three local government areas in the constituency, noting that the aim was not only to secure victory but to deepen political participation at the grassroots saying that he his team were already working on a door to door campaign in towns villages and farmstead across all communities in the three Local Government areas in order to secure nothing less than 100 thousand votes for Oyebanji within the Constituency.
The aspirant further aligned with party leaders who spoke at the event, including former and serving political office holders, who attributed the growing support for the governor to achievements recorded in key sectors of the state’s economy.
Iranlade also commended the administration’s emphasis on women inclusion and empowerment, as well as its peace building initiatives, which he said had fostered harmonious coexistence among diverse ethnic groups and enhanced the state’s profile as a safe destination for living and investment.
He expressed confidence that with sustained mobilisation and the continued support of the people, the APC would record a resounding victory in the election, assuring that leaders and stakeholders in Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 were fully committed to delivering on the set targets.
He assured the people of his constituency that he would consolidate on the achievements of the state government in infrastructure and human capital development when given the mandate to serve at the National Assembly in the 2027 general election.
