As part of the efforts to reinforce the cherished values of resilience, discipline, empathy, and the Omoluabi ethos for which Ekiti State and her citizens are known and renowned, the Ekiti State Government, under the astute leadership of Governor Oyebanji, is intensifying efforts to refocus the attention of its people.
The Director General of Ekiti State Civic Orientation, Mrs Olawumi Famuyiwa, made the revelation during a strategic meeting with the management team of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in the state.
The delegation, led by the State Director General, Mr Akinola Adeyemi, convened at Mrs Famuyiwa’s office in Ado Ekiti.
Mrs Famuyiwa who disclosed that proactive measures were already in motion to enhance communication and partnership initiatives under the Oyebanji administration emphasized government’s commitment to fostering an inclusive democracy, stressing the importance of active citizen participation, irrespective of urban or rural residency.
Assuring continued collaboration with relevant government and non-governmental organizations, Mrs Famuyiwa called for a united front in the campaign for attitudinal rebirth within the state. She articulated the government’s dedication to effective communication, feedback mechanisms, and the delivery of democratic dividends at the grassroots level.
The Director General highlighted key government policies, including the recent implementation of the land use charge, designed to lay a solid foundation for the state’s development. She stressed the need for public awareness and understanding to garner support for government initiatives.
Mrs Famuyiwa urged the National Orientation Agency to provide essential information and intelligent reports to aid government decision-making, reiterating the government’s focus on expanding its reach and maintaining robust partnerships with stakeholders in society.
Furthermore, Mrs Famuyiwa emphasized the importance of community engagement, unity advocacy, and solicited support in civic education, peace initiatives, and conflict resolution, expressing intention to collaborate with NOA field officers for community mobilization.
In response, Mr Akinola Adeyemi, Ekiti State Director of the National Orientation Agency, expressed gratitude to Governor Oyebanji for appointing Mrs Famuyiwa into her new role. He expressed confidence in her ability to replicate her proven capacity and integrity in her position as the Director General of Civic Orientation.
The meeting also witnessed the presence of Senior Special Assistants to the Governor on Value Orientation and ICT, Messrs. Tobi Oyeyemi and Ayo Kolade, who acknowledged Mrs Famuyiwa’s efforts in re-engineering the office for efficiency and effectiveness. They called for support toward achieving the mandates given by the BAO-led administration.
