EKSU DISSOCIATES FROM REPORT ALLEGING EKITI FIRST LADY OF NEGLECTING MASSES’ CHILDREN TO EMBRACE HIGH PAYING SCHOOL

The Management of Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti (EKSU) dissociate itself from  disparaging report on the personality of Ekiti State first Lady, Her Excellency, Dr.(Mrs.) Olayemi Oyebanji on some social media platforms over her decision to offer services, especially in the area of advocacy, at the Afe Babalola University, Ado – Ekiti (ABUAD).

The writer of the damaging report who claimed to have graduated from Ekiti State University claimed that “The children of nobody are paying school fees in EKSU, to the purse of Ekiti State. The children of well meaning Nigerians are in ABUAD paying fees to the purse of an individual. But the wife of Ekiti manager prefer to attend to the children of the well meaning leaving the children of the masses that voted for them”.

According to the statement from  Directorate of imformation and corporate affairs and signed by the Head, Mr Bode Olofuuagun, EKSU management clarified that Dr. (Mrs.) Oyebanji has not committed any infraction by deciding to offer her professional services anywhere that pleases her in order to impart knowledge and give back to the community that produced her.

It is apposite to place on record that since the assumption of office of His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as the Governor of Ekiti State, his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Olayemi Oyebanji has intervened in many areas in our university (EKSU), including but not limited to: offering support for the Medical Students’ week as well as candidates of JAMB Equal opportunity group; attendance of various Faculty conferences and inaugural lectures.

“As a matter of fact, during one of the inaugural lectures which she attended, the Vice Chancellor of EKSU, Prof. Edward Olanipekun announced publicly that Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Oyebanji had volunteered to teach in our (EKSU’s) Department of Educational Management and as a follow up, a 300 level course has been allocated to her commencing from the first semester of the 2022/2023 academic session.

“The initiator of the damaging report, obviously does not know the rationale behind community service, otherwise, he wouldn’t have originated such ill-informed remarks in the first place.
The Management of Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti (EKSU) dissociates itself completely from the report and its author”.
