As Christians worldwide observe the sacred season of Lent, the Adedayo Oluwasanmi Foundation (AOF) has called on believers to embody the spirit of love, sacrifice, and generosity by extending a helping hand to the less privileged in society.
In a goodwill message signed by the founder, Pharmacist Adedayo Oluwasanmi, the Foundation emphasized that Lent is not only a period of fasting and spiritual renewal but also an opportunity to reflect on Christ’s teachings of compassion and selflessness. It urged Christians to use this season to impact lives positively, especially by supporting the needy in their communities.
“Jesus Christ exemplified love, sacrifice, and service to humanity. As we go through this Lenten season, let us not only draw closer to God through prayers and fasting but also extend love to those around us who are struggling with hardship,” the statement read.
The Foundation noted that many Nigerians are facing economic difficulties and that acts of kindness—no matter how small—can make a significant difference. It encouraged Christians to embrace the values of charity by providing food, shelter, and financial assistance to the underprivileged, widows, orphans, and the physically challenged.
AOF also highlighted its commitment to humanitarian services, stating that its initiatives in health, education, and poverty alleviation align with the biblical principle of giving. It urged individuals, churches, and organizations to prioritize community service and social responsibility, emphasizing that a society built on love and care would thrive.
